Hi, I’m Lavater — a Registered Nurse with 15 years of experience in healthcare and, more recently, a full-time global nomad fueled by curiosity, adaptability, and a deep desire to live life intentionally.
Three years ago, I traded the familiar routines of hospital hallways for passport stamps and one-way tickets. Since then, I’ve lived in 10 countries across multiple continents, embracing a lifestyle known as geographic arbitrage — earning in stronger currencies while living in regions where the cost of living stretches your dollar further.
This journey hasn’t been all postcard-perfect sunsets and serene work-from-paradise moments. I’ve had both wins and hard lessons — from discovering budget-friendly gems that allowed me to save more than I ever did at home, to unexpected expenses that reminded me (sometimes a little too forcefully) that financial planning is not optional when you’re living out of a backpack.
What I’ve gained is a deeper understanding of financial responsibility, budgeting, and the true cost — and reward — of freedom. I’ve learned to live lean, invest wisely, and adjust quickly, all while continuing to care for others through remote nursing opportunities, medical missions, and volunteering.
This life isn’t for everyone, but for me, it’s a way to blend purpose with exploration — healing people while learning from the world.
Whether you’re here because you’re curious about life on the road, interested in geographic arbitrage, or simply want to know how a nurse ends up calling three continents home in one year — I’m glad you’re here.
Let’s connect, learn, and grow — wherever in the world we may be.
